Elbert Lee Spencer, Jr.

Elbert Lee Spencer, Jr., 71, of 154 Desert Road, Corapeake, NC, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 in his home. Mr. Spencer was born in Norfolk, VA on March 15, 1943 and was the son of the late Elbert Lee Spencer, Sr. and Frances Norris Crockett. A machinist foreman, he had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Randa Spencer, and by a sister, Frances Crockett. Surviving are his two daughters, Kim Cochran and husband Butch of Corapeake and Dana Pickens and husband Banks of Charlotte; a sister, Betty Childress of Goodlettsville, TN; a brother, Richard Spencer of Belle Haven, VA; and two grandchildren, Addison Cochran and Spencer Pickens. A gathering for family and friends will be held Saturday, September 20th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the residence, 154 Desert Road, Corapeake. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
