Alice Bea Lane Riddick, 83, of 1317 Sandy Cross Road, Belvidere, NC, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 in Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation, Elizabeth City. Mrs. Riddick was born in Perquimans County on April 4, 1931, and was the last surviving of six daughters born to the late Benjamin and Ethel Trueblood Lane. A floral designer, she had retired after 47 years, and had worked first with Ililda's Florist in Hertford, and later with Pate's Florist, Colonial Florist, and Edenton Floral Company, all in Edenton. She and her husband, the late George Robert Riddick, attended Up River Friends Meeting. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Madie Chappell, Bessie Ann Meads, Maggie Perry, Henrietta Stallings, and Bobbie Bunch; and by her son-in-law, John E. "Weasel" White. Surviving are her daughter, Faye R. White; two grandchildren, Georgia Faye Stallings and husband Wilbur, Jr., and Donald Lamb and wife Modesta; and a great-grandson, Stonie Cayden Stallings, all of Belvidere. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Riddick Family Cemetery near the home, and will be officiated by Pastor Irvin Ambrose. Friends may join the family at the residence.
