Myra Evans Poovey

Myra Lea Evans Poovey, 81, of 147 Willow Street, Edenton, NC, died at home on Monday, October 13, 2014. Mrs. Poovey was born on January 14, 1933 in Norfolk, VA and was the daughter of the late Winston Miles Evans, Sr. and Catherine Miles Evans. A homemaker, she was a Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Alexander Poovey, and by a brother, Richard Evans. Among her survivors are her daughter, Linda Poovey Dick and husband Gary of Allegan, MI; her brother, Winston Miles Evans, Jr. of Edenton; ten grandchildren, Danielle, Michelle, Catherine, Nicole, Tony, Jamie, Matthew, Jewel, Michael, and Kyle; and five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lauren, Lilly, Hunter, and Clara. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, assisted the family with arrangements.
