Cennie Phelps Miller

Cennie Phelps Miller, 87, of 1313 NC 45 North, Merry Hill, NC, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. Mrs. Miller was born in Bertie County on November 6, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Charlie Warren and Margaret Williams Phelps. A homemaker, she was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death last year by her husband of over 69 years, H. Fretwell "Fret" Miller. Surviving are her half-sister, Shirley Perry; her half-brother, Kenneth Smithwick; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain, by the Rev. Adron Modlin. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the Roy Copeland home, 131 Nixon Road, Merry Hill.
