Buck Smith

Burnis Aubrey "Buck" Smith, 79, of 1743 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, NC, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton. Mr. Smith was born in Perquimans County on August 8, 1935 and was the son of the late Burt and Lillie Smith. A retired machine mechanic with Don Juan Mfg., he was a member of Belvidere-Ryland Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Nelion Jordan Smith; his daughter, Brenda Smith and friend Mark Ashley of Sunbury; his granddaughter, Brandi Blanchard; and his great-grandson, Hunter Lee Blanchard. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Belvidere-Ryland Church of Christ and will be officiated by Pastor Bobby Cahoon. Friends may join the family at the church immediately following the service. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
