Erma Leigh Doughtie Eure, 82, of 141 Harrell's Church Road, Gatesville, NC, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. Mrs. Eure was born in Gates County on September 26, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Arthur Thomas and Nellie Eure Doughtie. Retired from Union Camp Corp., now International Paper, in Franklin, VA, she was a member of Eure Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Carlye Eure; her sister, Shirlie Eure Pope; and her brother, William "Sonny" Doughtie, Sr.; and a granddaughter, Amanda Harrell. Surviving are her daughter, Connie Harrell (Marshall) of Gatesville; three sons, T.C. Eure (Jennifer), and Danny J. Eure (Linda), all of Eure, and Donnie R. Eure (Janet) of Gatesville; a sister, Emily Eure of Chesapeake, VA; ten grandchildren, Jason, Danielle, April, Justin, Kelsea, Tony, Tracey, Michael, Nicole, and Brittany; and eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Alicia, Megan, Cole, Ashton, Trinity, Evan, and Eric. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the family plot at Eure Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Wayne Gardner. Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service, or all other times at Donnie and Janet's home, 136 Harrell's Church Road.
