Allen Matthews Trapp, Sr., 85, of 508 Yeopim Road, Edenton, NC, died Monday, December 15, 2014 in Three Rivers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Windsor. Mr. Trapp was born in Cleveland, OH on June 15, 1929, and was the son of the late Willie Jewell Trapp and Ima Matthews Trapp McNabb. A retired Master Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps, he served for 30 years, and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. After retiring from service, he worked in delivery with J.H. Conger & Son Oil Company for 15 years, and was a member of Yeopim Baptist Church, Edward G. Bond Post #40 of the American Legion, and the Marine Corps Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Austin Lee Trapp; and by his sister, Doris T. Floyd. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Edna Williams Trapp; a daughter, Joan T. Wilson of Portsmouth, VA; a son, Allen M. Trapp, Jr. of Carrollton, GA; a brother, Edward M. McNabb of Parrottsville, TN; twin grandsons, Jeffrey (Haley) and Matthew (Allie) Wilson; and three great-grandchildren, Lyla, Lillie, and Cullan Wilson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, by the Rev. Joseph Buck. Burial with military honors will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at the residence.
