Patrina Giordanella Crowell

Patrina Giordanella Crowell, 86, of 922 North Broad Street, Edenton, NC, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Crowell was born on March 10, 1928 in Bridgeport, CT, and was the daughter of the late Antonino and Francesca Cavato Giordanella. Retired from the City of Bridgeport Nutrition Center, where she was an employee of Bassick High School cafeteria for 15 years, and since moving to Edenton, was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. A volunteer at the Edenton Clothing Closet, she was a phenomenal woman who devoted her life to her parents and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Glenn Albert Crowell, Sr., two brothers, Carmen and Michael Giordanella, and by a granddaughter, Grace Piche` Wahl. Surviving are two daughters, Tina Crowell Moccio of Ansonia, CT and Maria Crowell of Bridgeport; two sons, Glenn A. Crowell, Jr. and wife Catherine of Stratford, CT and Albert Allen Crowell and wife Elizabeth of Bridgeport; a sister, Sadie Fanali of Santa Monica, CA; and a brother, Matthew Giordanella of Edenton. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Patrina, Michael, III, Anthony, Charles, III and wife Nichole, Brian, Andrea and husband Craig, Erica, Joseph and wife Maria, Teresa, and Lisa; 12 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Mekenzie, Alexis, Gavin, Camden, Stefani, Quentin, Avante, Nytreece, Evian, April, and Lee; two great-great-granddaughters, Giana and Adalynn; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral arrangements will be made at a later date. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with those plans. The family asks that flowers be omitted, and contributions in her memory be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, 207 N. Broad Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
