Zeb Delton Eure, 91, of 1267 US Hwy 158 West, Eure, NC, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in Sentara Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City, as the result of an automobile accident. Mr. Eure was born in Gates County on July 12, 1923 and was the son of the late Zeb D. and Caroline Felton Eure. Retired as Lumber Division Supervisor from Union Camp Corp., now International Paper, in Franklin, VA, he was a life-time member of Eure Christian Church where he had faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. A member of Gatesville Masonic Lodge #126 where he had been very active for a total of 66 years, in 2008 he had received the Diamond Jubilee Pin for his 60 years as a Master Mason. A veteran, he had served in the Army during World War II having received numerous decorations including the Purple Heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Jones "Flossie" Eure; a sister, Penny Howell; and three brothers, Tim, Parrish and Felton Eure. Surviving are his daughter, Teresa Winslow and husband Lot of Belvidere; a son, Ronnie Eure and wife Henrietta of Crofton, MD; a brother, Luther Eure and wife Rebecca of Gatesville; five grandchildren, Josh and Kelsey Eure, and Todd Winslow, Lance Winslow and wife Cindy, and Terence Winslow and wife Kimberly; six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler, Bryce, Colby and Kayla Winslow, and Reilly Neiman; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Eure Christian Church by Kenny Umphlett. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence beginning on Friday.
