Christine Bass Lamb, 83, a resident of Edenton House, Edenton, NC, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 in Winslow Memorial Home, Elizabeth City. Mrs. Lamb was born in Chowan County on September 27, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Carey and Martha Harrell Bass. A retired supervisor with IXL Cabinets, she was a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Marshall Lamb; a grandson, Justin Bennie Lamb; a sister, Nelia Mae Taylor; brothers, Lester, Rodney, Willis, and Wilbur Ray Bass; and her long-time companion, Oscar Griffin. Surviving are her daughter, Beverly L. Morris and husband Chris of Tyner; her son, Terry Lamb and wife Pat of Kill Devil Hills; her sister, Ima Jean Lane of Hertford; three grandchildren, Patrick Morris and wife Andi, Stephen Morris, and Chrystal Lamb; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Faith Fellowship Baptist Church and will be officiated by her Edenton House pastor, The Rev. Jimmy Davenport. A private burial will follow in the Lamb Family Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is handling arrangements.
