James Carlyle Dail, Jr.

James Carlyle "Jim" Dail, Jr., 56, of 103 Douglas Avenue, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in his home. Jim was a life-long resident of Chowan County, born on September 19, 1958, and was the son of James C. "Pete" Dail, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Harrell Dail of Edenton. An employee with LeBleu Water Distributors, he was a member of Open Door Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 29 years, Susan Reaves Dail; a daughter, Mary Catherine "Cady" Dail of Edenton; two sons, Daniel Harrell Dail of Greenville and Christopher Stallings and wife Michelle of St. Petersburg, FL; a sister, Linda Dail Edmundson and husband Frankie of Edenton; a brother, Thomas Allen Dail of Clayton; three grandchildren, Miles, Finley, and Nolan; and nieces and nephews, Jessica, Allen, Elizabeth, Christopher, Tyler, and Tori. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Open Door Church and will be officiated by the Revs. Stephen Mizell and Greg Brinson. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and other times at the residence.
