Helen Lucy Ascoli Clark, 93, died peacefully Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in her home in Edenton, North Carolina. Mrs. Clark was born in West Rutland, Vermont on June 27, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Gustavo and Leah Ascoli of Carrara Italy. As a child she attended Rutland area schools including Mount Saint Joseph Academy and had also worked there in the community. On December 12, 1943 she married John A. Clark and later gave birth to her daughter, Patricia, in 1946. While in Vermont, her early working years were devoted to retail management until she moved into manufacturing where after 23 years of service to Tambrands she retired in 1983. She resided in West Rutland until August of 2012 when she moved to Edenton, North Carolina to live with her son-in-law and daughter, Frank and Patricia Miglorie. A long standing member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church in West Rutland, she was an active member of the St. Bridget's Sodality and for over twenty years had been active in the Christ the King charismatic prayer group in Rutland, VT. She and her husband gave over thirty years of service visiting the sick of the parish. After moving to North Carolina, she joined St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenton. She had a strong devotion to her faith, her husband and her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2010. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Miglorie and husband Frank of Edenton; her grandson, Darin Miglorie and his wife Kathleen of Fairfax Station, VA; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Fletcher of Fairfax Station, VA; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the parish hall of St. Anne Catholic Church by the Rev. William L. Pitts. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
