Doris Hodges Peal

Doris Jo Hodges Peal, 76, of 408 High Street, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in her home. Mrs. Peal was born in Adamsville, TN on November 30, 1938, and was the daughter of the late John and Birdtie Hodges. A graduate of College of The Albemarle, she was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Peal, Jr.; a daughter, Cathy Cole; a sister, Jean Sweat; and by a brother, Charles Hodges, Sr. Surviving are her two daughters, Carolyn Gray and Katie Peal; a step-son, William Peal; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Cedarwood Cemetery with Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, handling arrangements.
