Tyler Ryan Herba, 22, a resident of Holiday Island, Hertford, NC, was called home on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Tyler was born in Baltimore, MD on December 27, 1992. As a kid he played baseball and enjoyed drawing and tattooing. A hard worker, he was very self-motivated, loved to skateboard, swim, and have a great time with his family and friends. He found enjoyment in working with cars and stereo systems, was amazing at anything he put his mind to, and never gave up on himself or anyone else. Surviving are his parents, Daniel Herba of Hertford and Stephanie Strickland of Severn, MD; his step-mother, Earline Herba of Hertford; the love of his life, Sara Robinson of Virginia Beach, VA; paternal grandparents, Elaine Mathews and her husband Daniel and Peter Herba, all of Hertford; maternal grandmother, Joan Stubbs of Fountain, CO; four brothers, Brandon Strickland, Steven Herba, Matthew Herba, and James Herba; two sisters, Elaina Strickland and Courtney Herba; two nephews, Ervin Walden, Jr. and Brantley Herba; two aunts, Michelle Waggoner and Susan Hadloc; and two uncles, James Herba and Jim Stubbs. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Chapel On The Sound, 112 Leisure Road, Hertford. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
