Catherine Wilson O'Quin

Catherine Anne Wilson O'Quin, 69, of Bethel Fishing Center Road, Hertford, NC, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton. Mrs. O'Quin was born in Norfolk, VA on July 5, 1945, and was the daughter of the late John P. and Rosa Lee Drew Wilson. A retired restaurant cook, she was a member of Central Baptist Church in Norfolk for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by other family members, Dann J. Cootes, Liam Dann Koon and Linda Eakin. Surviving are her husband, Dennis O'Quin; two daughters, Dennise Catherine King and husband Troy and Jacque Theresa Koon, both of Hertford; a sister, Barbara McGlohon and husband Kenneth of Hertford; two brothers, Ricky Carroll and wife Chevy of Suffolk, VA and Danny Carroll of Hertford; eight grandchildren, Emilyanne Byrum, Cody King (US Army), Dominick O'Quin, Tristenanne, Preston, Gavin, Lianna, and Avery Koon; three great-grandchildren, Richard Ashley, III, Alizabeth Byrum, and Carly King, and one soon to be born; a special nephew, Kenny McGlohon (US Marine Corps), and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 17th at 1:00 p.m. in Fountain of Life Ministries. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
