Glenn Edwin Croom, 60, of 2285 Colington Road, Kill Devil Hills, NC, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 in Sentara Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. Mr. Croom was born in Portsmouth, VA on March 16, 1954 and was the son of the late Bennie Excel and Edna Marie Bunch Croom. The retired owner and operator of Glenn's Café in Durham, he was a member of Liberty Christian Fellowship. Surviving are his wife, Connie Pickens Croom; a sister, Gayle Sparrow and husband Steve of Chapel Hill; and two nephews, Zack and Stephen Sparrow. Also surviving are Connie's sons, John Brickhouse of Chesapeake, Stephen Brickhouse of Suffolk, and Joey Brickhouse of Portsmouth. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Waff Family Cemetery by the Rev. John Hobbs. Friends may join the family in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and continuing until the procession leaves for the grave.
