Thomas Edward Parker, III

Thomas Edward "Tommie" Parker, III, 69, of 104 E. Carteret Street, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Parker was born in Chowan County on October 22, 1945, and was the son of the late Thomas Edward, Jr. and Mary Jones Parker. A retired Water Plant Operator with the Town of Edenton, he was a member of Countryside Church of Christ, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7312. An Army veteran, he had served in Vietnam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dawn Parker, and by a brother, Darrell Parker. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Marilou Norman Parker; two sons, Eddie Parker and Dwayne Parker, both of Edenton; and two aunts, Wanda White of Elizabeth City and Peggy Hollowell of Chicago, IL. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be officiated by Pastor Bob Brock. Military honors will be accorded in the chapel. A private inurnment will be held at a later time on the family plot in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service, and all other times at the residence.
