Joseph Wade Dunlow, 88, of 1216 Charles Street, Windsor, NC, died Monday, January 19, 2015 in Wilkes Regional Medical Center, North Wilkesboro. Mr. Dunlow was born in Bertie County on April 23, 1926, and was the son of the late Albert and Penelope White Dunlow. Retired as Chief of Police from the Town of Windsor after 32 years of service, he was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Charity Masonic Lodge #5, AF & AM, and was an Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Martha Nora Hoggard Dunlow and Mavis Bowen Dunlow; a sister, Alma Deans Hoggard; and three brothers, Lloyd, Leslie, and Tyler Dunlow. Surviving are his daughter, Nora Sue D. Eller of Hamptonville; a son, Roger Wade Dunlow of Windsor; two grandsons, Joseph Brandon Eller and wife Christal of Asheville and Paul Matthew Eller of Millers Creek; and two great-grandchildren, Nora Sue Eller and William Colton Eller. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 22 at 3:00 p.m. in Edgewood Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Chris Lee.
