Kathleen Gregory Williams, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015. Mrs. Williams was born in Norfolk, VA on September 2, 1930, and was the only daughter of the late Charles Emmett and Mary Bell Ethridge Gregory. A devoted wife, mother and daughter, she was a past member of Ramoth Gilead Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Elsbury Whedbee Williams. Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca W. Kester and husband James W. of Gastonia, NC; a son, Roger C. Williams and wife Vickie L. of Suffolk; six grandchildren, Michelle Pittillo, Kristen Kester, Adam Kester, Joshua Williams, Jeffrey Williams, and Jessica Sawyer; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, NC. A private burial will be in the Koen Cemetery.
