Evelyn LeBars Baker Jordan

Evelyn LeBars Baker Jordan, 85, of Shipyard Road, Hertford, NC, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Waterbrooke of Elizabeth City. Mrs. Jordan was born in Beauville, France on August 1, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Pierre and Marie Louise LeBars. A retired seamstress from the former Don Juan Manufacturing Co., she had attended St. Anne Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Sanford Baker, and nine siblings. Surviving are her husband, Ralph Jordan; two daughters, Gabrielle Baker Pryor of Hertford and Linda Baker Lewis and husband Rusty of Wake Forest; a brother, Bernard LeBars of Woodstock, Canada; four grandchildren, Julie Pryor, Jason Pryor and wife Kristin, Brittany Lewis, and Daniel Lewis; and three great-grandchildren, Alex Jones, Jade Amaya, and Vance Pryor. Also surviving are Ralph's daughter, Rita Plum and husband Ted, and his son, Tony Jordan. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery.
