Thomas Daughtrey Berryman

Thomas Daughtrey "Shoat" Berryman, 89, of 4038 Virginia Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 his home. Mr. Berryman was born in Chowan County on August 9, 1925, and was the son of the late Thomas Allen and Nellie Hollowell Berryman. A retired farmer and poultry grower for Perdue, he was Navy veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Parker; and by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Riddick Berryman. Surviving are two daughters, Florence B. Winslow and husband Joey of Belvidere and Pam B. Lane and husband Vernon of Powell's Point; a son, Allen Berryman and wife Annette of Hobbsville; four grandchildren, Allison W. Eure and husband Towe, Wallace Winslow, Emily Berryman, and Hunter Berryman; and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Brynn Eure. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. on the Berryman family plot at Warwick Baptist Church and will be officiated by the Rev. Gene Asbill.
