George Wayne Perry

George Wayne Perry, 75, of 401 Sterlingworth St., Windsor, NC, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Windsor. Mr. Perry was born in Bertie County on September 18, 1939, and was the son of the late George Washington and Zula Estelle Barnes Perry. A retired heavy equipment operator, he had served in the National Guard. Surviving are his son, Kyle Perry of Bay City, MI; five sisters, Annette Askew of Colerain, Bettina Jernigan of Merry Hill, Sallie Ayers of Ahoskie, Patricia Bryan of Franklin, VA, and Kathy Perry of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 8th, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by Dr. Gene Martin. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to any chapter of either the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
