Curtis Small

Roland Curtis Small, 87, of 649 NC 32 North, Sunbury, NC, died Friday, March 13, 2015 in his home. Mr. Small was born in Gates County on May 23, 1927, and was the son of the late Raleigh E. and Lucy Ward Small. A retired general foreman from US Gypsum after 40 years of employment, he was a member of Eureka Baptist Church, and was an Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Finck. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Loyce Ann Kloeppel Small; two daughters, Dianne Ring of Sunbury and Linda Nowlin of Corapeake; a son, Jimmy Small of Corapeake; two sisters, Dorothy Belangia and Jackie Britton, both of Chesapeake, VA; five granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
