Eva Mae Perry Forehand, 91, of 1247 Rocky Hock Landing Road, Edenton, NC, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Forehand was born in Chowan County on November 16, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Charlie Wood and Arrie Elizabeth Morgan Perry. A retired catalog clerk with Sears in Edenton, she also enjoyed her work as a homemaker and mother, and dearly enjoyed working in her flower beds and making quilts. She was a faithful member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church and its Bertha Dale Circle, Faye Ober Sunday School Class, Young at Hearts Bible Study, Senior Adult Choir, had worked in Bible School, and for many years taught the 8 and 9 year old Children's Sunday School Class. Other areas of service included her work with the Meals on Wheels program. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Cornelius "D.C." Forehand. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Ross and husband Bill of Hertford; two sons, Donald F. Forehand and wife Janet of Hobbsville and Jimmy C. Forehand and wife Angie of Edenton; a sister, Hilda Burns of Suffolk, VA; a brother, Cecil Perry of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Barbara Stacey and husband Dave, April Bass and husband Patrick, and J.C. Forehand and wife Kim; six great-grandchildren, James Salmon and wife Elizabeth, Megan Raper and husband John, Susan and Morgan Bass, and Jacob and Joel Forehand; and four great-great-grandchildren, Alexis Mae Salmon, and Liam, Fionn, and Brianna Raper. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Rocky Hock Baptist Church and will be officiated by Dr. James Horton. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
