Patricia Ginn "Patsy" Ryan, 72, of 126 Bella Vista Drive, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Duke University Medical Center. Mrs. Ryan was born in Jasper, SC on April 19, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Jacob Polk and Ella Belle Crews Ginn. A Navy wife for her husband's 21 year career, she was known locally for making "Pappy's" Baskets, was a member of the Albemarle Craftsman's Guild, played Bridge with the "girls" every Monday and Wednesday, was an avid golfer, and loved and promoted Historic Downtown Edenton. She attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church and faithfully occupied a seat with her friends on the back row. Her favorite task though was being "MeMa" to her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, J.P. "Bubba" Ginn. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, James Henry Ryan, LCDR, USN, Ret., her daughter, Kelly Ryan of Lexington, NC; her son, Tully Ryan and wife Martha of Edenton; her sister, Harriett Fredkin and husband Norman of Carlisle, MA; and her three grandchildren, Christopher, Mary Glenn, and Tully 2. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Jim Reed. Friends may join the family at a reception in the Parish Hall immediately following the service.
