Jean Linebarger, 77, of 201 Blount Street, Edenton, NC, died Friday, April 10, 2015 in W.R. Winslow Memorial Home, Elizabeth City. Miss Linebarger was born June 30, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Mike and Bess McGee Linebarger. Her early years were spent in Elizabeth City and then she and her family moved to Alabama where she graduated from Gadsden High School in Gadsden, AL. For many years she had been employed as a floral designer and was a long-time member of Gadsden United Methodist Church. Upon moving to Edenton she became very involved with the community and developed many lasting friendships. She had served as a caregiver to several families in the area and faithfully attended Edenton Baptist Church where she was a member of its Sunshine Bible Class, and also found great enjoyment as a member of the Joy Club. Surviving are her sister, Sally Blount and husband Jim of Edenton; a niece, Dr. Jenny Blount Williams and husband Paul of Edenton; a nephew, Dr. Jim Blount, Jr. and wife Kelly of Cary; and four great-nieces. A Celebration of her Life will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Edenton Baptist Church by the Revs. David Brooks, Kelly Rhodes, and Dr. Jesse Croom. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 S.
