Ann Rogers

Ann Elizabeth Speechley Rogers, of Holiday Island, Hertford, NC, died peacefully, Thursday, April 9, 2015 in her home. Ann was born in London, England, and was the daughter of the late Russell and Doris Speechley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Speechley, and her husband of 54 years, Claude Junior "Jay" Rogers. She loved Holiday Island and was very active in community functions and served as Cabin Girl of the Yacht Club for many years. A true lady, she was treated like royalty by her friends. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, JoAnn Wallace and Marilynn Bilyeu; two grandchildren, Jay Wallace and Jennifer Foreman; four great-grandchildren, Dejha, Jahnya, Anakin and Mina; and a brother, Alan Speechley. Memorial services will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Chapel On The Sound with Pastor Chris Wilson officiating. A celebration of her life will follow in the club house.
