Will Shaw, Jr.

William Holt "Will" Shaw, Jr., 36, died Friday, April 24, 2015. Will was born in Chowan County on April 20, 1979, and was the son of William Holt Shaw, Sr. of Edenton and the late Reta Leggett Shaw. A police officer, he graduated from the Police Academy at Martin Community College in Williamston, and had worked with the Bethel, Weldon, and Roanoke Rapids police departments, and the Halifax County Sheriff's Department. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Edenton and was a member of Widow's Son Masonic Lodge #519 in Roanoke Rapids. In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Rhonda Walls Shaw; children, Wyatt Holt Shaw of San Antonio, TX, and Brandon Haislip, Jr., Jonathan Haislip, and Olivia Haislip, all of Edenton; three sisters, Wanda Braddy of Winston-Salem, Lisa Shaw of Edenton, and Amy Allen of Jacksonville; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Gordon Shaw of Edenton. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Randy Browder. Friends may join the family at the residence.
