Rudolph Ralph Perry, 88, of 151 Goodwin Mill Road, Hertford, NC, died Monday, May 4, 2015 in his home. Mr. Perry was born in Perquimans County and was the son of the late Ralph and Ira Perry. A retired farmer and pork producer, he was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church and a former member of the Bear Swamp/Beech Spring Ruritan Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, infant Louise Perry, and later Bessie Sawyer and Lessie Amato. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Shirley Elliott Perry; three daughters, Colleen Miller and husband Eddie of Raleigh, Marcheta Sawyer and husband Gary of Hertford, and Melanie Jordan and husband Bill of Tyner; a son, Bryant Perry and wife Krista of Tyner; five sisters, Viola Overman, Leona Perry, Patricia Amato and Madelyn Langley, all of Hertford, and Lucy Jennings of Belvidere; three brothers, T.E. Perry of Hobbsville, Curtis Ray Perry of Hertford, and Joe Perry of Tyner; seven grandchildren, Meredith Miller Kelly and husband Brian, Kristen Sawyer Cullipher and husband Keith, Tyler Sawyer, Katherine Jordan Collins and husband Tyler, Heath Jordan, Chelsea Perry and fiancé Michael Ray, and Alex Perry; and five great-grandchildren, Kason Cullipher, Lilly and June Kelly, Heidi Collins, and Emery Ray. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church and will be officiated by Pastor Lloyd Meads. The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions in his memory be made to Calvary PHC, P.O. Box 6, Belvidere, NC 27919, or to one's favorite charity.
