Edna Virginia Harrell Shaw, 90, of 807 Badham Road, Edenton, NC, died Friday, May 15, 2015 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. Mrs. Shaw was born in Chowan County on May 2, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Erie A. and Mary Bass Harrell. Employed with Jimbo Jumbo's, and later retiring from the Carter's Ink, Dennison Corp., and Pelikan Ink businesses, she was a member of Edenton Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Alton "Red" Shaw. Surviving are two daughters, Sherry S. Dowd and husband Mike of Edenton, and Terry S. Davis and husband Thomas E. "Tiny" of Williamston; two sisters, Evelyn Boyce of Edenton and Eleanor Tudhope of Buffalo, NY; a brother, Melvin Harrell of Tarboro; six grandchildren, Travis Ellis, Heath Ellis and wife Monica, Dane Ellis and wife Holly, Jarrod Davis, Michael Dowd and wife Nikki, and Lynn Davis; and seven great-grandchildren, Marisa, Morgan, Lincoln, and Spencer "Clyde" Ellis, Kimberly Rea, and Gabriel and Garrett Stulick. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
