Carl Elmer William Evely

Carl Elmer William Evely, 69, of 731 Coral Lane, Edenton, NC, died Friday, May 29, 2015 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton. Mr. Evely was born in Montour County, PA on August 25, 1945 and was the son of the late William Ralph and Ruth Martha Elizabeth Lauer Evely. A retired corrections officer from State Correctional Institution of Frackville, PA, more recently he was employed as a site attendant with the Edenton-Chowan County Recycling Convenience Centers. A member of both St. Anne Catholic Church and the Chowan County Senior Center, he was an Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Carl Evely, Jr.; a grandson, Anthony Evely; and by a great-granddaughter, Meikah Hubler. Surviving are his wife of nearly 49 years, Catherine Flannery Evely; three daughters, Mary Kay Seiler and husband Albert of Ashland, PA, Jennifer Evely of Lexington, SC, and Jessica Evely of Edenton; three grandchildren, Erich, Shelby, and Jacob; and a great-granddaughter, Sophia. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the parish hall of St. Anne Catholic Church by the Rev. William L. Pitts. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Ashland, PA. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
