Myra Hunter Hobbs, 95, of Ulster Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in Brookdale Assisted Living, Elizabeth City. Mrs. Hobbs was born in Perquimans County on October 27, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Watson Herbert and Isa Dail Hunter. Known by many in her community for her work as a seamstress, she and her husband had also owned and operated Hobbs Grocery Store in South Mills for many years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ralph Hobbs, Sr., three sisters, and by two brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer H. Lemon and husband Phillip of Australia; a son, Joey Hobbs and wife Terry of Elizabeth City; a sister, Jean Jackson of Oklahoma; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Elizabeth City.
