Elizabeth Bailey Trueblood

Elizabeth Bailey Trueblood, 70, of 654 Egan Lane, Elizabeth City, NC, was called home on Friday, June 19, 2015. Mrs. Trueblood was born in Mecklenburg County on April 26, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn Orr Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty and Rachael Bailey, and by her great-granddaughter, Katelyn Conner. Surviving are her husband, William Trueblood; two daughters, Becky Egan Shifflett and husband Johnny and Vickie Egan Kohler, all of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Nancy and Mary Jane Bailey; eight grandchildren, Johnathan and Lisa Shifflett, Nickie, Heather, and Kelly Simpson, and Justin, Kelsey and Cindy Ballance; and 19 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Sara, Shawn, Ray Ray, Jo Jo, Adam, Matt, Joe, Shayanne, Kyra, Carter, Jakob, Nathaniel, Autumn, Ashton, Ashley, Tyler, Grace, and Ryleigh. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Baptist Fellowship by Pastor Scott Collins. Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation, Providers, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
