Gregory Scott Faircloth, 41, of 205 Wampanoag Trail, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 while on vacation in Ocracoke. Greg was a life-long resident of Chowan County and was the son of Donald M. Faircloth, Sr. of Edenton and the late Sandra Cale Carmello. He was employed with VT Group of Virginia Beach in metal fabrication. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Pearl B. Faircloth, and by his step-father, Joseph Carmello. Surviving are his wife, Wendy Owens Faircloth; three daughters, Rachel Elizabeth, Gwendalynn Monique, and Marilyn Claire; his brother, Donald M. Faircloth, Jr. and wife Tracy of Edenton; and by extended family members and many, many friends. A gathering for family and friends will be held Saturday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the home. The memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Howard Sutton. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to any chapter of the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
