Maline Langston King

Maline Langston King, 94, of The East Pavilion, Franklin, VA, died there on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Mrs. King was born in Gates County on February 17, 1921, and was the last surviving of six children born to the late Harry Lee, Sr. and Alice Everett Langston. A retired secretary, she was for many years a member of Ahoskie United Methodist Church, and since moving to Franklin several years ago had faithfully attended High Street United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Peoples King, Jr.; her son, Thomas H. King; her sister, Mary Sue Miller; and by her brothers, Thomas, Richard, Harry, Jr., and David Langston. Surviving are her son, Winston P. King and wife Judy of Powell's Point, NC; three grandchildren, Adam King, Mark King, and Lori Haynes; two great-grandchildren, Kingston and Marlo Haynes; by her Village at Woods Edge and East Pavilion families, and by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3rd at the King Family Plot in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Eure, NC. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, NC is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu flowers, contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
