Betsy Ashley-Jones

Betsy Ashley-Jones, 76, of 106 Donna Drive, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Betsy was born in Chowan County on May 17, 1939, and was the youngest child of the late Luther and Betsy Bunch Ashley. A homemaker, she was a member of Edenton Baptist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Earl Jones, and by her brothers, Melvin, Lester, and Hugh Ashley. Among her survivors are nieces, Janet Ashley-Naouli of Old Bridge, NJ and Theresa Ashley of Laurel, MD; and by other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. A service in Celebration of Her Life will be held Saturday, August 15th, at 11:00 a.m. in Edenton Baptist Church by the Rev. David Brooks. Friends may join the family for a reception in the church social hall immediately following the service. A private burial will be in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
