George Branson Weatherly

George Branson Weatherly, 67, of 2723 Peartree Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in his home. Mr. Weatherly was born in Norfolk, VA on August 22, 1947 and was the son of the late George and Eloise Bishop Weatherly. A retired logger from Gary Meiggs Logging Company, he was an Army veteran. Surviving are his four daughters, Tara W. Winslow and husband Todd of Hertford, Denise Weatherly and fiancé Robert Bryant of Elizabeth City, Alice W. Norment and husband Lenn of Greenville, and Tonia W. Hassell and husband Scott of Hertford; a son, Larry Weatherly and wife Valerie of Hertford; 16 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the residence. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
