Vicki Ellis Plummer

Vicki Ellis Plummer, 64, of 119 Iredell Drive, Edenton, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 in Vidant Chowan Hospital where she was surrounded by her family. Vicki was born on May 7, 1951 and was the daughter of Luella Eller Ellis of Williamston and the late Rev. Wallace Martin Ellis. A 1973 graduate of East Carolina University, she was a retired educator, having worked in the Northampton County School System, Martin Community College, The College of the Albemarle, and the Countryside Church of Christ School in Edenton. A faithful member of Edenton United Methodist Church and its Prayer Shawl Ministry, she was also active in the United Methodist Women and the Albemarle Emmaus Community. A coach's wife, she was an avid fan of the Edenton Steamers. In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband of 39 years, Leonard Bennett "Lenny" Plummer; her daughter, Lindsay-Rebekah Plummer Moore and husband Johnny of Vanceboro; her son, Jared Bennett Plummer and wife Chelsea of Winterville; two sisters, Nancy Jones of Williamston and Joyce Gay of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two brothers, Freddie Ellis of Fayetteville and Randy Ellis of Durham; a granddaughter, Baileigh Gray Moore; two step-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Tyler Moore; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A service in Celebration of Her Life will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Edenton United Methodist Church by the Rev. W. Christopher Aydlett and the Rev. Terry Williams. A private inurnment will be held in the church columbarium. Friends may join the family for a time of fellowship in the Family Life Center immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence.
