Virginia Myers Oldham, 88, of 1503 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in Baptist South Hospital, Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Oldham was born on January 28, 1927 in Bertie County and was the daughter of the late James David "Jim" Myers and Ethel Miller Myers. A homemaker, she was a member of Edenton Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Shelly Oldham; a sister, Elizabeth Myers Lewis; and by brothers, Vernon Jesse Myers, Learcy James Myers, and Joe Van Myers. Surviving are her daughter, Wanda Oldham Forrest and husband Randy of Jacksonville, FL; her son, Fred Michael Oldham and wife Pam of Edenton; her sister, Ann Myers Copestick of Rockville, MD; and four grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Forrest, and Shelly and Kevin Oldham. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain, NC, and will be officiated by the Rev. David Brooks. Friends may join the family Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and other times at the residence.
