Bonnie Shenkle D'Antonio

Bonnie Lynn Shenkle D'Antonio, 78, of Rosecroft Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Mrs. D'Antonio was born in DuBois, PA on November 17, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Delbert Edmund and Dorothy Anna Thomas Shenkle. A retired office administrator, she was a Baptist by faith. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ferdinand Alfred D'Antonio; a daughter, Linda O'Neal and husband Dale of Elizabeth City; a son, Larry D'Antonio and wife Linda of Berwyn, IL; three sisters, Nancy Jane Lucas of Vermont; Betty Ann Curry and Laura Dawn MacZaczyj, both of DuBois, PA; six brothers, Delbert Edmund, Frederick Raymond, John Thomas, Earl Eugene, and William Stone Shenkle, all of DuBois, and Richard Dee Shenkle of Cary; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Friends may join the family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.
