Amy Elizabeth Sims

Amy Elizabeth Sims, 37, of 476 Water Plant Road, Gates, NC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 28, 2015 in her home. Amy was born in Norfolk, VA on August 28, 1978, and was the daughter of Alan and Karen Sims of Gates. A graduate of Gates County High School, she had attended Abundant Hope Baptist Church in Gates and was particularly known for her love of God, life, people, and animals. In addition to her parents, surviving are her brother whom she dearly loved, Michael "Sal" Sims of Gates; a very special aunt, Patsy Boyce and husband Karl; two uncles, Garold Moore and wife Kay and Richard "Sunny" Justice and wife Diane, all of Chesapeake, VA; her canine companion, Daisy; and many extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, by Pastor Jon Rissmiller. Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
