Lois Jeanette Allen Chappell Meads, 91, of Lexington, SC, and formerly of Tyner, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015. Mrs. Meads was born in Tallahassee, FL on December 5, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Henry S. and Ethel Farrell Allen. A homemaker, she was a long-time member of Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church, and also was a licensed minister in the Redemption Ministries Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Churches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, The Rev. C. Gilbert Chappell, and Henry Meads; her son, Woodard Glenn Chappell; four siblings; two step-daughters, and a step-son. Surviving are her son, The Rev. Charles Chappell and wife Mary of Zuni, VA; her daughter, Parthenia Lane and husband George of Lexington, SC; two sisters, Phoebe Taylor of Tuscaloosa, AL and Imogene Melvin of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Henry Lee Allen of Caddo Mills, TX; five grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Henry's daughters, Latitcia Lindbuckler and husband Louis, Judy Overman and husband George, Alice Redding, and Amy Chappell and husband Grant. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 7th, at 11:00 a.m. in Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Danny Meads. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
