Mae Carlisle Wynn

Bessie Mae Carlisle Wynn, 81, of 106 East Heron Court, Elizabeth City, NC, and formerly of Edenton, died Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Waterbrooke of Elizabeth City. Mrs. Wynn was born on September 4, 1933 in Edgecombe County and was the daughter of the late Robert Vann Carlisle and Bessie Whitehurst Carlisle Paul. A homemaker, she was a member of Edenton Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thomas Wynn, Sr.; her son, Jerry L. Wynn; her brother, Robert Carlisle; and by her sisters, Becky Vick, Frances Coggins, and Dorothy Ann Paul. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia W. Gilmartin of Elizabeth City; two sons, Fred T. Wynn, Jr. and wife Kathie of Edenton and Joseph B. Wynn and wife Janis of Elizabeth City; four grandchildren, Christie Sorenson, Michael Gilmartin, Austin Wynn, and Shannon Bracy; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Edenton Church of God by The Rev. Donald Sawyer, pastor. A graveside burial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon in Greenwood Cemetery in Tarboro.
