Charles Edward "Ed" Kabler, 75, of 10 Small Lane, Eure, NC, stepped into eternity with Jesus on Monday, September 7, 2015. Ed was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 27, 1939, and was the son of the late William and Rose Zelda Sparks Kabler. A construction and paving laborer, he attended Upper Room Assembly and had served with the Military Police in the United States Army. Ed lived a long, full, rich life surrounded by the love of family and friends. Even though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Marie Helton Kabler. This great man is survived by four daughters, Cindy Harrell and husband David of Eure, Tina Eure of Fuquay-Varina, Dianna Smith of Cary, and Carrie Conner and husband David of Eure; his "best" son, Victor Gregg Kabler and wife Cheyenna of Winchester, Ohio; two sisters, Marilyn Harvey of Bethel, Ohio and Jean Davenport of Felicity, Ohio; a brother, William Kabler, also of Felicity; 21 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of adopted grandchildren, children, family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Upper Room Assembly, 807 Main Street, Gatesville, and will be officiated by Pastor Eric Earhart. Afterward, we will journey to the family cemetery at 10 Small Lane in Eure for the burial service. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and other times at the residence.
