Wayne Ernest Barry

Wayne Ernest Barry, 80, of 1236 Macedonia Road, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Mr. Barry was born in Rochester, NY and was the son of the late Dwight W. and Alice Milliman Barry. The retired owner and operator of Barry's Centenary Inn in Williamson, NY, he had served in the United States Army for 17 years and was a member of St. Anne Catholic in Edenton. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Norma Ann Flanagan Barry; three daughters, Diane Heed of Hilton, NY, Karen Barry of Avon, NY, and Brenda Barry of Ontario, NY; three sons, Stephen Barry and wife Christine and David Barry and wife Cheryl, all of Rochester, and Dennis Barry and wife Tami of Ramah, CO; two brothers, Charles Barry of Worcester, MA and Thomas Barry of Yorktown, VA; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are being planned at St. Theodore's Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, both in Rochester. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, Edenton, handled local arrangements for the Barry family, and services in New York are being arranged through New Comer Funeral Home West, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester.
