Laura Mae Barnard Sanderlin, 86, of 747 Shawboro Road, Shawboro, NC, died Friday, September 18, 2015 in Sentara Nursing Center, Currituck. Mrs. Sanderlin was born in Camden County on May 15, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Mack and Pearl Heath Barnard. A homemaker, she was a member of Providence Baptist Church and had a deep love for God, family, friends and her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Willie Sanderlin, and by a brother, Gaston Miller. Surviving are her two daughters, Wanda Forbes and husband Joe of Camden and Debra Williams and husband Bob of Currituck; a son, Sam Wayne Sanderlin and wife Debbie of Moyock; a brother, Charles Barnard and his wife Frances of Chesapeake, VA; four grandchildren, Christy Docsh, Wendy Overton, Angie Waterman, and Samantha Page; seven great-grandchildren; and an "adopted" granddaughter, Sierra Banks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Providence Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles Stevens. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Elizabeth City. Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall of the church the hour prior to the services on Tuesday, and all other times at Debra and Bob's home, 101 Sound Shore Drive, Currituck.
