Vera Tolman Harrell

Vera Leah Tolman Harrell, 89, of 38 Carter's Road, Gatesville, NC, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Down East Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Harrell was born on August 4, 1926 in Beaminster, Dorset County, England, and was the daughter of the late Charley and Alice Maude Rodd Tolman. A retired administrator with West Point Pepperell, she also for many years sold and distributed Avon Home Products. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Gatesville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Joseph Harrell; her son, Brent Joseph Harrell; and by a grandson, Anthony Harrell. Surviving are two daughters, DeAnne Harrell Mullett of Wilson and Nicki Harrell Felton and husband Joe of Gatesville; five grandchildren, Angela Leah Sadler, Jonathan Ryan Felton, Eric Schell, Joshua Mullett, and Charley Mullett; and three great-grandchildren, Bentley Mullett, Annabelle Leah Sadler, and Macaylee Wiggs. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Jeffrey A. Douglas. Friends may join the family in the church parish hall immediately following the service on Saturday, or all other times at Nicki and Joe's home, 176 Perkins Road, Gatesville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial fund of St. Mary's Church, in care of Fran Ferrell, 1598 US 13 North, Gates, NC 27937.
