David Correia

David Correia, 73, of 1948 Center Hill Hwy, Hertford, NC, died Monday, October 5, 2015 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton. Mr. Correia was born in Fall River, MA on August 2, 1942, and was the son of the late Manuel and Maria Concepcion Silvia Correia. Employed for many years as a heavy equipment mechanic, he was a member of both Norview Masonic Lodge #113 in Norfolk, VA and Perquimans Masonic Lodge #106, and attended Bethlehem Church of Christ. A veteran, he had served in the US Navy. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Stella Rogers Correia; four daughters, Rebecca Cathon and husband David of Hertford, Amy Hibbitts of Virginia Beach, VA, Elizabeth Borromeo and husband Ed of Vancouver, WA, and Sharon Rossi and husband Gregg of Lake Tahoe, NV; a son, Michael Johnson and wife Barbara of Virginia Beach; a sister, Linda O'Grady of Fall River; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by Minister Jerry Norris. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and all other times at the residence.
