Deanna Faye Sink Orenstein, 75, of Adams Court South, Hertford, NC, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 in Vidant Bertie Hospital, Windsor. Mrs. Orenstein was a native of High Point and was the daughter of the late William Grayson and Mildred Irene Rothrock Sink. A retired educator, she had taught at Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, was a former instructor at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and was an Army Education counselor on several posts worldwide. She was a member of the Edenton Tea Party Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Leo Richard Orenstein (a native of Southport); her daughter, Scarlett Orenstein Grose and husband Matthew of McLean, VA; and two grandchildren, Carter and Sydney. A gathering will be held Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Graveside services will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
