Michael Craig Waff

Michael Craig Waff, 42, of 1403 River Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, October 9, 2015 in Duke University Hospital, Durham. Michael was born in Wilmington on July 7, 1973, and was the son of John Edward, IV and Shirley Copeland Waff of Edenton. For many years he had been employed as a commercial truck driver. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Allen Waff. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his former wife, Marie Waff; two daughters, Destiny Waff of Edenton and Brianna Waff of Elizabeth City; a step-son, Christopher Merello, also of Elizabeth City; a sister, Tammy Smith and husband Matt of Edenton; and two nieces. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by Minister Virginia Teague and the Rev. Ricky Bishop. Burial will follow in the Waff Family Cemetery. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
